Begin with two minutes of stillness and silence before God.

As we all know, this life is not easy. We all face adversity, difficult decisions, and unfair outcomes. Paul, the disciples, and many people throughout the Old Testament experienced trials and demonstrated how to endure by being faithful to Christ. It’s not easy. And sometimes, it requires us to examine ourselves and make changes so we “may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

Are you willing to make changes that are needed in your life? Are you willing to be uncomfortable if God is leading you to a different place or behavior in your life? Psalm 26:2 says, “Test me Lord, and try me, examine my heart and my mind.” Some people refuse to look in the mirror. Their struggles in life are from poor decisions but they blame anyone and everyone else. If we truly want His will, we must be willing for Him to test us and examine us. And we must do the same for ourselves. When He reveals the changes needed, HAVE FAITH! Growth comes from pain. He will always be faithful in leading us through difficult situations and changes we need to make in our lives.

Take two minutes to reflect in silence.
Reflection:
  • Think of a time when you experienced growth after a season of difficulty.
  • Are there any changes the Lord has been nudging you to make in your life that will help you follow Him more faithfully?
  • Prayer: God, test me, try me, and examine my heart and my mind. Give me wisdom and your character to make the right decisions in my life. In Jesus' name, amen!
