How Deep is Your Love

How Deep is Your Love

Begin with 2 minutes of silence and stillness before God.

Infinite.

Limitless.

Incredible.

Immense.

Incalculable.

Innumerable.

Immeasurable.

What do all of these descriptors have in common? They describe a vastness that is difficult for even the brightest human mind to comprehend. When we envision our individual plans for our lives, we think of the absolute best that we can dream given our circumstances and the limitations of our human minds. What we fail to realize is that the power of God is able to do immeasurably, exceedingly, and abundantly more than we can think or ask! Wow, God!

In the first three chapters of Ephesians, we have been reading the Gospel story. We will find that in the next three chapters (Ephesians 4-6) we will transition to applying what we’ve learned. We have been given instructions on how to live a life pleasing to God, now we are about to study how to go out in faith with the help of the Holy Spirit and walk in the newness of a life transformed.

What is something that you are praying about? Has God ever given you a “WOW, God” moment when you were given something that far exceeded what you had prayed for?

Take 2 minutes to reflect in silence.
Reflection:
  • Take time to reflect on prayers you’ve prayed. Journal how God answered those prayers exceedingly more.
  • Prayer: Dear God, thank You for the depth of Your love! You bless our lives so much more than we can fathom. Dear Lord, help us to recognize all the gifts You give to us daily. We praise You always for Your awesome love and power. Amen.

Family Devo: Ephesians 3

By: Ty Park

When partnering with your family to know, love, and follow Jesus, we strive to create and share content filtered by the Head-Heart-Hands model.

Head: the knowledge of God and His Word | Heart: the personal connection from scripture | Hands: a missional mindset

Head

In Ephesians Chapter 3, Paul is writing to the believers in Ephesus. He talks about a special mystery that God revealed to him. This mystery is that through Jesus, both Jews and non-Jews can be part of God's family. This was a big deal because, in the past, people thought it was only for the Jews. Paul explains that God's plan was hidden for a while, but now it's revealed through Jesus.

Heart

Think about being a part of a big, loving family. Paul is saying that because of Jesus, we can all be part of God's family - no matter where we're from. We might feel different sometimes, but God loves all of us the same. Just like Paul, we can trust God's plan for us, even when things seem confusing or new. Do you feel like you're part of God's family? Do you know that once you belong to Him, you will always belong to Him no matter what?

Hands

Knowing that we're part of God's family can make us want to treat others like family, too. Let's show love and kindness to everyone we meet. We can be friends with people who are different from us, just like Jesus is a friend to everyone. If we see someone who's sad or lonely, we can share a smile, a kind word, or help them out. When we do these things, we're showing that God's love is in our hearts.

Prayer: Dear God, thank You for including all of us in your big family because of Jesus. Help me remember that I belong to You no matter what. Teach me to be kind and loving to everyone, just like You are to me. We love You! In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
