Read Mark 12:28–34 | The Greatest Commandment
Head
One day, a teacher of the law asked Jesus, “What is the greatest commandment?” Jesus answered with this verse, teaching that the most important thing in life is to love God with everything we have—our hearts (feelings), our souls (who we are), our minds (our thoughts), and our strength (our actions). Jesus wants our love for God to be the most important part of our lives!
Heart
Have you ever loved something so much that you couldn’t stop thinking about it? Maybe a favorite toy, game, or person? Jesus says that our love for God should be even greater than that! Loving God isn’t just about saying we love Him; it’s about showing it with our thoughts, words, and actions. Families can grow closer to God together by praying, reading the Bible, and making choices that honor Him.
Love God with everything you are, and love others the way you want to be loved. That’s what Jesus said is most important.
