Head
Have you ever had a problem you didn’t know how to fix? That can feel very frustrating and scary trying to solve a problem on your own, but when someone comes alongside you and helps you, it is the best feeling ever! In today’s Bible Story, we see people who need help. Let’s find out what Jesus did to help!
In John 5, Jesus visits a pool called Bethesda, where many sick people waited for a chance to be healed. Jesus saw a man who had been unable to walk for 38 years. The man explained that he had no one to help him into the pool. But Jesus didn’t need the pool to heal him! Jesus said, “Get up, pick up your mat, and walk.” Instantly, the man was healed!
In John 6, we see Jesus provide for a huge crowd. Thousands of people followed Him to hear His teachings, but they didn’t have food to eat. A boy had five small loaves of bread and two fish, but that wasn’t enough to feed everyone. Jesus took the bread and fish, thanked God, and started passing it out. Amazingly, there was enough food for everyone, and there were even leftovers!
Heart
These miracles remind us that Jesus can take care of all our needs, no matter how big or small. He cared about the one man who couldn’t walk and the crowd of thousands of hungry people. Jesus has the power to heal us and make us whole. We can trust Him to care for us, even when things seem impossible.
Hands
Jesus is our Healer and Provider. He has the power to do amazing things, but He also cares about our daily needs. We can trust Him to take care of us. And just like the boy who shared his lunch, we can share what we have and trust Jesus to do great things with it.
Prayer
Dear Jesus, thank You for being our Healer and Provider. Thank You for loving us and giving us everything we need. Help us to trust You and to share Your love with others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
More
- Play a game of Hot Potato! When the music is playing, pass a ball around a circle. When the music stops, the person holding the item says, “Jesus cares for us!” and then passes the ball to the next person. Continue playing a few rounds. At the end, discuss how we can care for others by sharing our snacks, our toys, our prayers, and the Truth that “Jesus Cares for Us!”
