1. Read John 1:1-5 and Genesis 1:1. How does the opening phrase, “In the beginning,” connect to the story of creation in Genesis 1?

2. Verse 4 says, “In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.” What do you think it means that Jesus is both life and light?

3. Read John 1:6-18. Verse 14 says, “The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.” What does it mean to you that God became flesh and lived among us?

4. John describes Jesus as being “full of grace and truth” in verse 14. How do you see grace and truth working together in the life of Jesus?
