Message Notes

Extra-Ordinary: Mary of Bethany

Preparation

SCRIPTURE REFERENCE:

John 12:1-8; Luke 10:39; John 11:32; Matthew 26:7-8; Matthew 11:28; Romans 8:35; Psalm 139:1-16, 23-24

THE BACKSTORY:

The Bible is full of figures of faith - ordinary people used by God to do extraordinary things!  Through their stories, we learn that doing great things is not bound by our limitations but accomplished because of His omnipotence!

MINI-MESSAGE TAKE-AWAYS:

  1. Seek first to understand rather than to be understood.
  2. Pride drains you of your understanding, compassion, humility, and your humanity.
  3. Sometimes we can't stop intrusive thoughts, but we can choose what to do with those thoughts.
  4. We’ve got to go to battle. Prioritize the promptings; don’t wait until it’s too late. Devote yourself to your giftings, and don’t compare yourself to others. Take back your voice and remember that what you say matters. Be present in the moments that matter most.

PRAYER POINTS:

  • Pray that your House Church would have a new understanding of what it means to love others well and humbly follow Jesus.
