Read Psalms 117-118

Head

Imagine a huge crowd gathered in a bright, open square — people from every place you can imagine. Kids, families, travelers, and strangers stand shoulder to shoulder as someone calls out, "Everyone! Come praise the Lord!" That's the vibe of Psalm 117. It's the shortest chapter in the whole Bible, but its message is powerful: God's love never quits, and His faithfulness lasts forever. So everyone everywhere is invited to praise Him.

Then the story opens wider in Psalm 118. Picture someone walking out of a really hard time — maybe a battle, sickness, or a moment that felt hopeless — and stepping into the sunlight again. His voice is full of joy as he shouts, "Give thanks to the Lord! His love endures forever!" In this passage, David explains how he cried out to God when he was surrounded and scared, and God rescued him. He explains how God became his strength, helper, and his song. Even when things looked impossible, God made a way — turning what felt like the "end" into a brand-new beginning.

Together, these Psalms paint a picture of a God whose love fills the whole world and whose help is strong enough to bring us through anything.

Heart

Have you ever had a moment when you thought, "This is just too much for me"? Maybe it was a problem that felt too big, a mistake that made you feel stuck, or a day when everything seemed to go wrong. Psalm 118 reminds us that God meets us right in the middle of those moments and helps us stand again. His love doesn't run out when we're tired, scared, or overwhelmed — it stays strong. And Psalm 117 reminds us that His love isn't only for certain people; it's for everyone, including you. Because God's love and faithfulness never fail, we can face challenges with courage, thank Him for His help, and look for ways to share His love with others. When we choose to praise God in both easy and hard moments, we become living reminders of His goodness to everyone around us.

Hands

Take a moment to praise God as a family. Pray, sing a song, or share gratitude!

Prayer: Dear God, thank You for Your never-ending love and Your faithfulness that lasts forever. Thank You for hearing me when I cry out and for helping me when life feels heavy or confusing. Please give me courage when things seem hard, peace when I feel afraid, and a grateful heart that remembers Your goodness. Help me share Your love with the people around me and trust You in every part of my day. Amen.
