Head

Have you ever been in a situation where you didn’t want to do something because you knew you weren’t good at it? I can find myself in that situation sometimes. Sometimes, it can make us feel bad about ourselves and leave us wishing we were like someone else. Does that relate to anyone? Comparison is truly the thief of all joy. We were not designed to compare ourselves to others. We were made to celebrate God’s creation.  Here in 1 Corinthians 12, there is an incredible truth to remember when we feel comparison try and creep in.

Heart

God has uniquely created each one of us. We all have a unique plan and purpose for our lives. Paul writes that we all make up the Body of Christ. All the parts of the body have specific roles, our mouths are responsible for speaking, our ears are responsible for hearing, and our spiritual bodies are no different. 1 Corinthians 12:18 says, “But as it is, God has arranged each one of the parts in the body just as he wanted.” God is delighted in the way He created you. The world doesn’t need an altered version of you. The world needs a real version of you.

Hands

Rather than comparing ourselves, let’s celebrate how God has created us. This week, make a list of how God has created you and praise Him for it. God’s creation deserves to be celebrated, and you are His Creation.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You for the way You have uniquely designed me. Help me to see what makes me different from other people as a gift from You. I pray for the strength to fight against comparison and choose to celebrate! In Jesus' name. Amen.
