Head

In Acts 7, we learn about one of Jesus' apostles, Stephen. Stephen boldly preached to people about Jesus and the works of God. Some of the Jewish people did not like this because they did not want people to become followers of Jesus. These people falsely accused Stephen of speaking against God. But guess what? Stephen did not let this stop him! In fact, he responded to their false claims by giving the longest speech in the book of Acts! His speech was full of history of how Jews had rejected many of God’s servants, and he even reminded them that they were the ones who killed Jesus.

Heart

Stephen had faith in God and the Holy Spirit, and he spoke out against those who were turning away from Jesus, even when it was difficult and scary. What are some ways that we can have bold faith like Stephen? For one, we must know that we have to lean on God for true boldness and strength. God is there for us to turn to, and He gives us the ability to do things that we can’t do in our own power. Psalm 46:1 reminds us, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Another way to have bold faith in God is to get to know God! Our relationship with God grows the more time that we spend reading His Word and in prayer with Him.

Hands

Are you facing something difficult that may seem impossible to overcome? Maybe you are having a hard time loving people who are unkind to you, or maybe you are nervous about telling a friend about Jesus. If so, remember that God is with you in difficult times, and ask Him to give you the strength and courage to face what seems impossible.

Prayer: God, thank You for always being with me! With You, all things are possible! God, give me the boldness to stand up for Jesus in all situations. Amen.
